sneakerblog: Cheers Pat & Henrik ! First of all our mandatory question:  What sneaker you currently wearing?JR:

HENRIK: Im wearing our coming sneaker classic JR.Protennis in all black (from the SS09 collection)…
PAT: On my foots you find a well worn style from the first limited Jim Rickey collection (from SS08) JR.B Patent/Leather White…

sneakerblog: Tell us a little bit about the young history of Jim Rickey.
JR: HENRIK: Jim Rickey is designed by a partnership of strong and creative minded individuals. Two long time friends namely Henrik Standerth & Patrik Lakso.

sneakerblog: What was your actuator for starting a brand in the hard-fought sneaker biz?
JR: PAT: We basically started our careers the same way as Bill Bowerman & Phil Knight (Founders of Nike year 1971) started theirs.
HENRIK: Same as those guys we worked as salesreps in the sneaker/footwear industry for several years for brands like Onitsuka Tiger by Asics, Le Coq Sportif among others.
PAT: Since then we’ve basically been working without rest for the past two and a half years to bring Jim Rickey to the best and most vibrant shops around the globe !!

sneakerblog: A year back till now could you imagine the todays success of Jim Rickey – also international?
JR: PAT: This is mad and not really what we expected…. [HaHaa] The secret is a lot of hard work, a lot of love and a BRILJANT team that eats, sleep and breathes Jim Rickey. We celebrate this amazing start with more sneakers with supreme design, happenings and collaborations, trust me.

sneakerblog: Whats the difference between Jim Rickey and other sneaker brands?
JR: PAT: I think it´s really difficult for us to say what the difference is between Jim Rickey and all the other brands in the sneaker industry… I hope that the people out there enjoy our Jim Rickey design, our premium quality and the great comfort.. We try not to compare ourself with all the BIG gigants out there.. Instead we put our focus in our devotees that makes Jim Rickey possible.

sneakerblog: Your Style is more RocknRoll than Hip Hop whats your source of inspiration?
JR: HENRIK: Actually im not so sure that I would define either RocknRoll our Hip Hop as our source for inspiration.. Our collections are created and made for people like us..  People who enjoys high-end quality combined with supreme design.. If our devotees like to flip some indie records or if they think Vanilla Ice´s one-hit-wonder Ice Ice Baby is the best song ever.. We don’t care..

sneakerblog: Do you see yourself typical scandinavian?
JR: HENRIK: There is a conspiracy theory that Scandinavian fashion brands step-by-step taking over the world…. [Haa Haa] If that’s true, our team will certainly be in the power seats.

sneakerblog: Jim Rickey exists since 2006 in trying to produce handcrafted, urban casual-stylish sneakers. Your style is sober but still distinct. Tell us a little bit how do you choose the premium materials for your sneakers?
JR: PAT: All our materials is currently purchased from Italy.. We only use the finest leathers and materials. This means that our shoes last much longer than most sneakers and only get better over time.. Like a vintage bottle of great wine.

sneakerblog: Finally a small preview: What can we maybe especially for the german market- expect from Jim Rickey within the next year?
JR: HENRIK: We’ll just keep doing what we do. This might branch out to other things. We’ll keep you posted.
